Larry Breitfelder's Top Priorities:
Enhancing our Quality of Life. "We
need and deserve adequate parks, libraries and other important public
services. They do much to preserve our community as more than just a
collection of houses. Improving neighborhoods and individual lives
should be the purpose of everything the city does."
Improving our local economy. "Families need good paying jobs and our neighborhoods benefit from the increased services an expanded economy can pay for. This can only be achieved if we rise above our past political battles and come together for the common good."
Reforming City Hall. "We can only reach our full potential if we have leadership with the courage to tackle all the “sacred cows”. In particular, we must address pension and overtime costs as well as require that taxpayer funded construction projects be awarded to the lowest bid from a qualified company. Some special interests will fight ruthlessly to defend their unfair advantages, we just have to be ready for that."
