We are a city ready to experience the unimaginable.
Forbes, we are calling you out...

Campaign for Chula Vista's Future

Chula Vista was dubbed one of America's "most boring cities" by Forbes magazine. They obviously have never visited the small town where my grandparents live. Now, don't get me wrong I love it. But you know you're in a pretty boring city when the hippest place to hang out is Wal-mart or the local general store. All joking aside, anyone that lives in Chula Vista knows that Forbes' observation is far from the truth. However, what it does reveal is that Chula Vista is in serious need of re-branding.

You may be nodding your head in resounding agreement, while a few others are asking: "What on earth is wrong with our brand?" Clearly, our city is faces challenging times. With a nation-wide recession, many of us have or know someone who has lost his or her job, home, or business. Brands reflect who we are, where we come from, and how we appear to the world. We know what a precious, fun, and unique place Chula Vista is to live, work and play. But do others? Rebranding our City to highlight what we have to offer is ever needed. Our brand is what will attract tourism and encourage investment - investment into our local economy, which means more jobs, more business, and growth.

As our city approaches its 100th birthday, we reflect on where we are, where we came, but most importantly, we are presented with an opportunity to define where we are going, not only for ourselves, but the rest of the world - that they may see what we see, so that they, like us who invest everyday in our local economy, begin to invest in our vision and dream. And we need to dream BIG. This is the Campaign for Chula Vista's Future - a commitment towards a future which is not limited by economic forces, but only by our own determination to make Chula Vista the greatest place to live.
